Company NDT Approvals

Airflite hold approvals issued by CASA (Part 145 D1 NDT rating), EASA (Part 145 D1 NDT rating) and FAA (Repair Station Limited NDT rating) to conduct on-wing and component Non-Destructive Testing, catering to most worldwide regional requirements. Airflite have multi-site NDT facilities for component testing and operate portable equipment required to deploy at short notice to respond to AOG NDT requirements at the customers chosen site. Coupled with Airflite’s aircraft painting, aircraft welding, structural repair and composite capabilities, we offer a one stop shop for a complete engineering solution. All tasks undertaken are certified using the applicable regulators Authorised Release Certificates (Form 1 or 8130-3).

NDT Methods

Airflite operate equipment and facilities to conduct penetrant testing, magnetic testing, eddy current testing and ultrasonic testing. All NDT personnel are compliant with the Australian Standard for NDT Qualification and Approval of Aerospace Personnel (AS3669-2006), which is technically equivalent to NAS410 (U.S) and EN4179 (Europe). NDT personnel have experience with General Aviation, Regular Public Transport and military aircraft maintenance and inspection on both fixed wing and rotary wing platforms.

NDT Level 3 Services

Airflite have Level 3 NDT services which include NDT procedure development, conducting initial and recertification exams for Level 1 and Level 2 NDT technicians, as well as NDT facility auditing. Airflite’s Level 3 NDT technician sits on the National Aerospace NDT Board of Australia, ensuring a best-practice approach to NDT services and compliance.
