Airflite’s Surface Finishing Team has over 60 years’ combined experience in the surface finishing of fixed and rotary wing civil and military aircraft.

With the ability to provide surface finishing services to many industries, The Surface Finishing Team are fully trained and qualified in using the latest paint application equipment and processes. We have far-reaching experience with conventional high solids paint, base coat/clear coat, metallic and pearl finishes, as well as the application of non-slip, anti-static, heat resistant and erosion resistant coatings.

Our surface finishing capability includes all aspects of surface preparation, painting and coating, including:

  • Top coatings – internal/external
  • Polishing and detailing
  • Chemical paint removal
  • Corrosion Control including surface protection
  • Livery design
  • Decal supply and application
  • Fibreglass repairs and replacement

In addition to ‘on aircraft’ work, we have the capability to undertake surface rejuvenation and finishing of aircraft components, flight controls and Ground Support Equipment in our painting facilities and can offer a collection and delivery service to our customers.

Our painting capability is fully deployable, so if you’d prefer the work to be done in your location or facilities, we’ll come to you. Airflite has completed high quality surface finishing projects across the world, from Karratha in Western Australia to Kolkata in India! This deployable capability has even painted a 20 metre aluminium ship.

Our surface finishers work closely with Airflite’s NDT department for the removal by bead blasting or chemical stripping for NDT inspection, and restoring the item back to its original surface finished state.

Airflite’s surface finishing processes, products and practices are undertaken under strict environmental controls, utilising the latest in paint products, paint equipment and technology.

At Airflite, our goal is to ensure the presentation of aircraft to the highest standard. We understand turnaround time needs to kept to a minimum, and we work hard to achieve this without impacting finish quality.
